Geoeventti joka juhlista 10 vuotta täyttävää Earthcachingia
geocaching event to celebrate 10th anniversary of earthcaching



Geoaware ja hänen kaksi tytärtään perustivat ensimmäisen Earthcachen
10. päivänä tammikuuta 2004. Kätkö sijaitsee Australiassa noin 3 tunnin
ajomatkan päässä Sydneystä etelän suuntaan.
EarthCache I - a simple geology tour of Wasp Head
oli julkaistuna kaksi viikkoa ennen kuin sen löysi Tankengine. Ensimmäisesä logissa lukee:

"Chooo ooo *FTF* The family wanted to go to the beach today, and I thought that was a great idea! They had fun in the sand, and I went off to do the cache. It was great! Just a like exploring around the rock pools, but with a geology lesson thrown in! I’ve seen similar formations in the past, and often wondered how the heck they got to be like that, but here all was explained! Fantastic! The only minor difficulty was the initial access from the beach to the rocks, but after that it was easy going. (I think it was high tide).

Excellent cache thanks geoaware – now I’m looking forward to more…"

Kokoonnutaan perinteiseen Geokätköilyeventtiin, jossa mahdollista juhlia ja jutella earthcacheista,
sekä geokätköilystä yleensä, yhden Suomen kuuluisimman kansallismaiseman lähelle.

Tapahtumapaikkana on Aulangon ulkoilumajan kodalla
ja aika 10. tammikuuta 2014 klo 17:00 alkaen.

Luvassa on makkaranpaistoja ja PekkaH:n keittelemät legendaariset nokipannukaffeet. Myös materiaalia ja tietoa maakätköistä pyritään saamaan esille.

Aulangollahan on myös oma mielenkiintoinen geologinen historiansa,
Sen ollessa yksi maamme ensimmäisistä
mannerjään alta paljastuneista alueista.

Yksi jännittävimmistä tavoista oppia Maapallosta ja sen prosesseista on kulkea ulkona ja kokea ne omakohtaisesti. Käynti Earthcachella on suuri ulkoiluseikkailu, josta koko perhe voi nauttia. On the 10th of January 2004 on a headland 3 hrs south of Sydney, Australia the very first EarthCache was 'placed' by Geoaware and his two daughters. EarthCache I - a simple geology tour of Wasp Head sat for two weeks before it was found by Tankengine. The first log reads:

Let's gather together to celebrate earthcaching
and geocaching in general near to the one of the most famous national scenic sites of Finland.

Event takes place at Aulanko outdoor hut campfire site
at 10th of january 2014, from 5:00 PM

In program there will be grilling sausages, drinking Coffee made in open fire and other traditional event cache atractions. There will also be some material about earthcaching provided at the event site.

Aulanko mountain peak is one of the first Finnish soil,
which came up at the period following the last Ice Age.

The most exciting way to learn about the Earth and its processes is to get into the outdoors and experience it first-hand. Visiting an Earthcache is a great outdoor activity the whole family can enjoy. An Earthcache is a special place that people can visit to learn about a unique geoscience feature or aspect of our Earth. Earthcaches include a set of educational notes and the details about where to find the location (latitude and longitude). Visitors to Earthcaches can see how our planet has been shaped by geological processes, how we manage the resources and how scientists gather evidence to learn about the Earth.

An EarthCache provides an Earth Science lesson through a visit to a unique geological site, and generally focuses on one aspect of the site. The description and tasks combine to teach the lesson and highlight what is unique or interesting about the location.
