Standing at GZ and looking down to your left, you will see a new ANU student accommodation building. This building is basically made out of old shipping containers and I am told is very comfortable to live in. As you look down the hill to the right you will see a very large gum tree. This tree is estimated to be around 300 to 400 years old and is without doubt the oldest tree left in the area. The accommodation block was built around the tree so as not to harm it. The wetland area has been reestablished to create a natural environment that will also nurture the tree.
