Geocache Description:

Of the almost 3,000 people who died during the 11 September 2001 attacks, three were Ethiopians. On 10 September 2004 the Government of Ethiopia dedicated a memorial to all of those who lost their lives that day. This memorial is reported to be the first permanent memorial in the world to honor the 9/11 victims.

The memorial is located on Entoto Mountain in a beautiful grassy field located at an elevation of almost 3,000m above Addis Ababa. The road up to the site provide views of the city. The site is easily accessed by car.

The cache is located in the forest of trees near the memorial.

Note by the owner (July 2019):
After four years in Ethiopia, my time in the 'Land of Origins' came to an end in July 2019. I have done my best to widen and maintain the net of geocaches in the country, but now need to call on my fellow cachers for help: If you venture out to search for this cache, please take a replacement container with you, just in case the original is gone. - Sundowner74
