It was a day ago, but the memory and anger are as fresh as if it was just moments. As I pick up the quill to write about it, I think hard about what to tell. I cross the room to my set of codes. I will need to make sure this does not fall into the wrong hands. I reflect on Fred who was just living his life when they caught up to him. This is what he communicated to me.
Fred saw the stranger arrive on his porch in the early morning. He knew that escape was impossible but was alert , nonetheless, for an opportunity. He knew this was the trigger to shift his life, certainly permanently, probably to his demise. He had little trust that he could survive this encounter. The actions he had implemented could not be tolerated.
He started to run inside when a purple glow enveloped him, which slowly turned black as curtain of darkness descended and he lost consciousness. He was surprised when the world returned. He felt reborn. He had a chance at survival at least. Fred was happy to be conscious, but there was pain too. He looked down his bare trembling chest to see a strange half apple lying there. Looking further down near his stomach he saw the source of the pain. The pain emanated from a wound the size and shape of the half apple. Did the other half of the apple have something to do with this? He needed, he knew, to pass on this confrontation to higher authorities who could understand it. He knew the response had begun.
This odd encounter must be securely communicated to the cabal. Does this portend the demise of our goal? I wonder what the half an apple signifies?

Notes about this cache: It is time to step up the difficulty and I thought this was appropriate for October. There is a starter keychain and a few pathtags for the FTF. Cache: the coordinates were bouncy but the bonus hint from Homer should make it straightforward. Thanks to Teamajk for proofing!
