Georgetown is an incredible town, one full of rich history and fascinating mysteries yet to be uncovered. What better place to learn a bit more about my hometown than at the newly renovated Halton Hills Public Library?
The posted coordinates take you to a blue plaque just outside of the library's front doors. To find the cache, read the information posted on the plaque.
Here's the puzzle: if a geocacher wanted to learn more about this specific subject, they would have to visit a special room, located on the lower level of the library (NOT the cultural centre, the actual library). The last four digit number on the plaque is the final clue. Translate the four digit number to a word using the following equation to find the cache:
0 = a
1 = d
2 = c
3 = p
4 = k
5 = i
6 = f
7 = s
8 = o
9 = e
Please note that the library is only open during certain hours (http://www.hhpl.on.ca/).
This cache was placed with the direct permission and assistance of the Halton Hills Public Library staff (thanks Geoff and Douglas!). The original cache contains a few historical photos, some trinkets, a logbook, pen, and a toonie for the First-to-Find.
