Chapelle castrale à l'origine, l'église de Lachapelle est incluse dans le corps de bâtiment du château construit au XIe siècle (meurtrière, N.E. mur de soubassement de l'église). Elle est devenue église paroissiale au XVe siècle.
Le visiteur est toujours surpris par l'intérieur de style baroque, construit en 1776 par Maraignon Champaigne à la demande des abbés Goulard, deux frères qui étaient curé et vicaire de la paroisse.
L'architecture intérieure est en bois mouluré peint et doré. Une triple rangée d'arcades comportant deux étages de tribunes convexes et concaves, occupe le fond de l'église et lui donne un air de théatre italien.
Les visites permettent d'admirer ce joyau unique récemment restauré.

Originally the chapel of the castle, the church of Lachapelle is part of the body of the chateau built in the 11th century (an arrow slit in the wall of the chateau and the substructure of the N.E. wall of the church give evidence for the dating). If became the parish church in the 15th century.
The visitor is always surprised by the baroque style of the interior, built in 1776 by Maraignon Champaigne at the request of the abbes Goulard, two brothers who were vicar and curate of the parish.
The interior architecture contains wood moulding both painted and gilded. A triple range of arcades carrying two galleries, convex and concave, fills the rear of the church and gives the feeling of an Italian theatre.
