Geocache Description:

This cache is placed along a popular trail in Halpatiokee Park.  

This "Greyt Dog" cache has been relocated from Seabranch Preserve where it lived on a part of the Florida Trail for over 5 years.  I was hiking Seabranch looking for some new Geocaches there and came upon this cache proudly displayed but archived.  A quick email to the owner and I had permission to relocate it.

I chose Halpatiokee because I wanted to place the cache in a similar environment. Take some time to enjoy the park and the scenic views. This cache is located near a scenic river overlook. Nearby is the end point for an old zipline that ran from "Lost Island" AKA "Treasure Island" to a spot close by. Be sure to check out the Geocache on Lost Island which is accessible by kayak. (GCZWJH). This part of Halpatiokee runs along the Lost River under a beautiful canopy of large oaks. The cache is easily accessible by walking, jogging, or biking.The cache is a short distance off the trail, and can be seen from the trail. Minor bushwacking, you could do it barefooted.
