The winter of 2012-2013 was long and gray. We (Teamajk, DeltaDelta1, and Yurtles) coped by turning our backs on winter. Solving puzzle caches was a good way to keep warm and dry and entertained. Cache puzzles posed by sujojeepers and mcdurr in California and Bumble! in Massachusetts were particularly challenging and educational. Each puzzle we solved was based on a different cipher from this American Cryptogram Association list. Now we want to share the fun with you by placing some ACA cipher caches in the Finger Lakes area. Enjoy!

I was recently going through a box I had not looked at in a long time. It was full to overflowing with the contents of my neighbor's sewing room, which I had inherited when she passed away over twenty years ago. She was a very sweet and gracious lady, and was more like a member of the family than just a next-door neighbor. (There is a link to a photo of the two of us together at the bottom of the page.) In amongst the fabric, patterns, buttons, laces, and various bits o' trim, I found an envelope that contained the following two scraps of paper:

Now, I've heard of "measure twice, cut once" but I can't make heads or tails of what all those measurements could mean. If I could figure it out, maybe it would be a project I could make as a way to honor her memory.

Information about the hide will be revealed on successful geocheck.
