Museu do Trigo / Wheat Museum
O Museu do Trigo foi inaugurado no dia 31 de Julho de 2004 e fica localizado entre as Lombas do Alcaide e do Loucão. Estas lombas constituem a Freguesia de Nª Sª dos Remédios. O museu preserva a memória dos que tanto labutaram neste “Celeiro da Ilha” que caracterizou a Povoação como a grande produtora de cereais em São Miguel. Existe aqui maquinaria ainda em funcionamento com mais de 100 anos, incluindo a roda principal, em madeira, que com a força da água, fornece a inércia que mantem a restante engrenagem em funcionamento. É concerteza umas das viagens no tempo mais agradáveis que temos na Ilha de São Miguel e vale muito a pena visitar.
The Museu do Trigo (Wheat Museum) was inaugurated in July 31 2004 and is located between the Lomba do Alcaide and do Loução. These two places combine the parish of Nª Sª dos Remédios of Povoação. The museum preserves the memory of those who worked hard in the “Island’s Barn” that characterized Povoação as the biggest cereal producer of São Miguel. There is still working machinery with over 100 years, including the main wheel pushed by water, maintaining the rest of the gear working. Its certainly one of the most pleasant time travel voyages in São Miguel and worthy to visit.
