LV Vietēja līmeņa dabas piemineklis. Atrodas nelielā zemes ragā, kas pārBānūžu ezeru ainaviski paceļas vairākus metrus augstu. Zemes rags avotains un mitrs. Milzīgs, iespaidīgs akmens, nedaudz apaudzis ar sūnām. Akmens izmēri: augstums dienvidu malā pret ezeru — 2,22 m, garums — 4,40 m, platums (pie pamatnes) — 4,5 m, platums (pie virsmas) — 3 m, apkārtmērs — 15 metri (Vecpiebalgas novada pašvaldība, 2012, ER)."Velns pār Bānūžu ezeru gribējis būvēt tiltu. Viņš teicis, ka viņam piederēšot katrs desmitais cilvēks. Dievs nebijis ar to apmierināts un licis Pērkonam iespert Velns tiltā. Visi akmeņi aizmesti malā. Tā arī radies nosaukums Velnakmens. Velnakmens atrodas Bānūžu ezera krastā starp Krastkalnu un Stūriņiem."

EN Local archaeological heritage. It is located in a small cape that towers scenically above the Bānūži Lake for more than several meters. The cape has many springs and it is wet. A huge impressive stone, slightly overgrown with moss. The dimensions of the stone: height in the southern part against the lake is 2.22 m, length — 4.40 m, width (at the foot) — 4.5 m, width (at the surface) — 3 m, circumference — 15 meters (Municipality of the Vecpiebalga County, 2012).
