Stoankasern (Junsalm)
Auf 1.984 m liegt der Junsbergalm Hochleger mit der Jausenstation Stoankasern ("Stein" und "Käse"). Hier befindet sich die einzige Bergkäserei des Tuxertals, die noch voll in Betrieb ist. Auf rund 800 Hektar Alm weiden um die 120 Kühe und 90 Stück Jungvieh. Täglich entstehen hier aus ca. 2.000 Liter Milch wunderbare Käse-Spezialitäten und Butter – dabei kann man auch zuschauen. In der Jausenstation kann man die Leckereien direkt vor Ort genießen oder zum Mitnehmen einkaufen; sie ist von Ende Juni bis Ende September geöffnet.
Die Gehzeit ab Lanersbach beträgt etwa zwei Stunden (rund 8 km), von Juns aus etwas weniger (rund 6 km). Dienstags und Donnerstags morgens fährt auch ein Wander-Sammeltaxi von Lanersbach direkt zum Stoankasern (Zustieg entlang der Strecke nach Verabredung möglich). Damit kann man sich zumindest bis in die Nähe von Station 1 bringen lassen. Auskünfte zum Wandertaxi erteilt der TVB in Lanersbach.
Die erste Station des Multis befindet sich an der Kreuzung 322/33, wo der Weg von der Brandalm nach Juns auf die Forststraße hoch zum Stoankasern trifft (Stage 1). In dem kleinen Micro-Cache befindet sich ein Hinweis, den man sowohl für Stage 2 und das Final benötigt. Auch in der zweiten Station (auch ein Micro) ist wieder ein Hinweis, den man ebenfalls für das Final benötigt.
At 1,984 meters above sea level lies the Junsbergalm Hochleger with the Stoankasern dairy farm and snack bar ("Stoan" = "stone" and "Kasern" = "cheese"). Here you'll find the last full-scale cheese dairy production within the Tux valley. About 120 cows and 90 young calves are grazing approximately 800 hectars of mountain pasture. Around 2,000 liters of fresh milk are used daily to produce butter and different sorts of delicious cheese. Visitors can watch different stages of the cheese-making process, depending on the day of the week and time of day. It is also possible to enjoy the cheese delicacies at the snack bar or buy some for taking home. The Stoankasern is open from the end of June until the end of September.
The walk from Lanersbach takes approx. two hours (around 8 km), a little less from Juns (about 6 km). On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is a shared taxi for hikers ("Wander-Sammeltaxi") going from Lanersbach directly to Stoankasern (pick up along the route can be arranged). Ask the driver to drop you off near stage 1 at about one third of the way up. Detailed information about the shared taxi can be obtained at the TVB tourist office in Lanersbach.
The first stage of the multi is located at the intersection of routes no. 322 and 33, where the route from the Brandalm to Juns hits the forest road leading up to the Stoankasern. The small micro-cache contains a hint, which must be obtained to complete the coordinates for stage 2 and also the final. The second stage contains another hint, which completes the information needed to find the final.
