B13: Monkey Puzzle Tree Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

LANMonkey: Well folks, it's time to say goodnight to another Monkey Puzzle cache. Dwight has had his fun but is apparently on hiatus now, and our maintenance check found the cache in a rough state.

So we've cleaned up GZ and taken our cache and gone home. There's more Monkey-like puzzles in the works, so hopefully everyone will have a chance to enjoy those soon.

In the meantime, thanks to everyone for the great logs on this cache, and the fun we had putting it together and reading your logs.

Cache safely, and cache often.

In recognition of the 2013 "Go Big" cache blitz, we figure that trees are big, and micros/nanos in trees suck. Solve the puzzle and this cache won't be hard to find.

We wish to thank all of you who found & voted for this cache in the 2013 Cache Blitz, where it was honoured with "Most Innovative" for the Lower Mainland, and "Best Overall" for BC! Thank-you!

Did you know that the Monkey Puzzle Tree (Araucaria araucana) is native to Chile?

Araucaria araucana

Did you know the popular name was not coined on any facts about being difficult for monkeys to climb, but more so the opinion of a British gentleman in Cornwall observing a newly planted specimen?

Did you know that Langley has a Monkey Puzzle Tree farm? (this is not the actual phone number for the tree farm - don't call it)

Langley - Monkey Puzzle Tree

Did you know that this cache is not located at or near that Monkey Puzzle Tree farm?

Did you know that monkeys like puzzles?

Thinking Monkey

Did you know that Dwight the Monkey has created a puzzling cache in Langley?

One of the keys to good security is a combination of something you have, and something you know.  Dwight the Monkey guards his secrets closely, and while he has a high disdain for Monkey Puzzle Trees, he quite enjoys monkey puzzles, and trees.

To find this cache, you’ll need to combine something you have with something you know. Do you know Dwight the Monkey? Did you consider checking the related web page to see where he is?

Dwight the Monkey

Once you find out where Dwight has hidden his cache, it’s one more small puzzle to get at the log – but if you get that far the rest should be a cinch.
