Geocache Description:

I've been through the desert town on a road with 5 names...

There is a road in Guildford that has five names along its length. You need to find the two ends.

I define an end as a give way junction or a stop junction. I include roundabouts as ending a road. I exclude pedestrian crossings as ending a road. If the white lines go round a bend at a junction - even if the name carries straight on, follow the white lines.

I define the end as the middle of the carriageway divider if a two-way road, or the offside edge if a one-way road (so you need to know which direction the one-way road is to define offside), level with the white line of the give way / stop markings. In the (fake) examples above, Name Rd goes North South, but the road follows the yellow line round the corner from North to East and has two names (Name Rd and Other Rd).

There may be more than one road that meets these criteria. You can tell if you have the right one by using the geochecker. Take the average of the coordinates of ends as the value to enter. The geochecker will tell you where the actual cache is (which is fairly close to the average, but I didn't place it exactly at the average.)

The road you need to find is entirely within Guildford town - that is within the wards of Stoughton, Stoke, Burpham, Westborough, Onslow, Friary & St Nicholas, Christchurch, Merrow and Holy Trinity. It may nudge a boundary.

to +/- 3 metres. Coords as defined by Google Earth.

Good hunting. You may also be interested in my other caches.

Please only log a find if you have signed the log. If you haven't, try adding a "write note" instead. Thanks.
