Gare à Pessac et ses mutations
La gare de Pessac, située à 5 minutes de celle de Bordeaux, un peu moins de 10 km, est la dernière desservie par les trains venant du Bassin (comprendre bassin d'Arcachon pour les non-girondins) ou du PeyoLand (comprendre Pays Basque pour les non-géocacheurs). L'ancienne gare a été remplacée en 2006 pour constituer un nœud de transports publics. Des transports en commun : bus, train, tram auxquels se sont joints les vélos avec les V3, et les voitures avec AutoCool.
Le site de la gare est en constante mutation à la fois au niveau des transports offerts et de l’aménagement de ses alentours. L'un de ces derniers aménagements est un auvent de 400 m2 livré en 2011. L'artiste girondin Laurent Le Deunff a réalisé sa décoration sur le thème de la forêt : gros poteaux en bois bruts, grands totems avec des têtes d’oiseaux, ...
Pessac station, beware of all its mutations
Pessac Station is located 5 minutes away from Bordeaux's, about 6 miles. It is the last stop before the city coming from The Bay (i.e. Bassin d'Arcachon for the rest of France) or from PeyoLand (i.e. Pays Basque/Bask Country for non-geocachers). The old station has been replaced around 2006 to form a multimodal interchange node for public transports. The traditional space-shared transports, bus, train, tram, are available as well as the new time-shared ones with the V3 bikes and the AutoCool cars.
The station site is in constant mutation at the level of the transports available and its layout. The latest development was a "awning" (a 4300 sq ft covered hall) located between the station's offices and the tram stop and decorated with totems of wild birds mixed with the actual pillars (art by Laurent Le Deunff).
