Geocache Description:

You seek a black bison tube about 15 feet off the trail. Bring your own pen.

Our friends are very fond of the hike up to the Trampas Lakes (elevation 11,400) and the ridge above. They spent their honeymoon hiking and camping in this area and have been back with their kids 6 times. This cache is placed to honor them and their love for this trail. The cache is about 1.8 miles from the Trampas Lakes, before the switchbacks begin - elevation 10361 ft. You seek a black bison tube among a triangle of three young pines, as witnessed downhill by a 7 foot tall remnant of a Ponderosa pine trunk and uphill by a large boulder. Coords are the combination of a June 8, 2013 reading averaged for 7 minutes and a June 10, 2018 reading averaged for 12 minutes. Both were averaged to 100% confidence with Garmin GPSMap 62st.
