15. septembrī, 2006. gadā, Subatē tika iesvētīts Baltais krusts, ko subatieši ar Latvijas Nacionālo partizānu un Lietuvas Brīvības cīnītāju apvienību un Subates un Ābeļu pašvaldību atbalstu uzstādījuši latviešu un lietuviešu nacionālajiem partizāniem.

1944. gada vasarā, padomju karaspēkam otrreiz ienākot Latvijas un Lietuvas teritorijā un veidojot okupācijas varu, tūlīt organizējās arī nacionālās pretošanās kustība šai varai. Raksturīgi, ka Latvijas un Lietuvas pierobežas pagastos izveidojās jauktās latviešu–lietuviešu nacionālo partizānu grupas, kurām ienaidnieks bija kopējs. Ja kādas grupas komandieris bija latvietis, tad viņa vietnieks bija lietuvietis un otrādi. Savukārt šīs grupas, būdamas arī patstāvīgas darbībā, apvienojās arī kopīgām akcijām pret padomju represīvajiem spēkiem, varas iestādēm un okupantu pakalpiņiem.

Lai godinātu šo cīnītāju piemiņu, uzcelts Baltais krusts un granīta stella Subates pakalnos. Stellas teksts iekalts latviešu un lietuviešu valodā.

2013. gada 24. aprīlī piemiņas vietā atklāta arī piemiņas plāksne.

15th September 2006, Subate White Cross was consecrated, which has been created by the Latvian National Partisans and Lithuanian Freedom Fighters Association, Subate and Ābeļu local government.

In the summer of 1944th, the Soviet troops re-entering the Latvian and Lithuanian territory and building occupying power, latvians and lithuanians immediately organized themselves in the national resistance movement to this rule. Typically, the Latvian-Lithuanian border counties formed mixed Latvian-Lithuanian partisan groups that shared a common enemy. If a group's commander was Latvian, his deputy was a Lithuanian and vice versa. In turn this group, being the independent functioning of the common shares of the merged against the Soviet repressive forces of the occupying authorities and servants.

To honor the memory of the fighters the White Cross and granite monument was built on Subate hills.

On the 24th april of 2013th memorial plate was added.
