Church of longitudinal plant consists of three naves staggered five bays and a chancel narrower, presenting different internal hedges. Presents architectural features Manueline, Mannerist and Baroque. Inside, highlighting the main altar gilded Mannerist.
"The head of St. Bridget is the Parish Church of St John the Baptist, in Lumiar in Lisbon, and during the reign of King Diniz who brought to Portugal three Irish riders. This tradition is confirmed by an inscription which is dated 1283 and it is on the outside of the church, adding that the three knights are buried inside her. The feast in honor of the saint is ancient.
Igreja de planta longitudinal composta por três naves escalonadas de cinco tramos e uma capela-mor mais estreita, apresentando coberturas internas diferenciadas. Apresenta características de arquitetura manuelina, maneirista e barroca. No interior, destaque para o retábulo-mor de talha dourada maneirista.
«A cabeça de Santa Brígida encontra-se na Igreja Paroquial de São João Baptista, no Lumiar, em Lisboa, sendo durante o reinado de D. Diniz que a trouxeram para Portugal três cavaleiros irlandeses. Esta tradição é confirmada por uma inscrição que tem a data de 1283 e que se encontra na parte de fora da igreja, acrescentando que os três cavaleiros estão sepultados dentro dela. A festa em honra da santa é antiquíssima.
