Muistokätkö - A Memorial Cache

Toukokuun 2014 alkupuolella joukko geokätköilijöitä kokoontui kovin sateisena iltana siivoskelemaan Pornaistenniemen seutuja. Lisätietoja alueesta löytyy tästä linkistä (PDF). Muistoksi piilotettiin porukalla tämä tähtiinsä nähden helpohko multi- eli monipisteinen kätkö. Kätkön toteuttamisessa kortensa kekoon kantoivat myös Arisoft, Melfiini, rauski ja Sipulis.

In early May, 2014, a group of geocachers cleaned up this peninsula area called Pornaistenniemi during a rainy night. For more information about the nature of the area please visit here. This is the Cache In part of the CITO event. In addition to the cache owner, this memorial cache was established by Arisoft, Melfiini, rauski, and Sipulis.

Multikätkö Jokaisen neljän pisteen asteet ja minuutit ovat samat: N 60° 12.___ E 024° 59.___. Korkein maaston vaativuuden arvo (T5) perustuu vain siihen, että loppupisteellä tarvitset apuvälinettä. Ilman tuota seikkaa T-arvo olisi enintään 2. Jos turvaudut vinkkeihin, myös piilotusvaikeuden D-arvo vähenee ainakin yhdellä tähdellä.

Ensimmäisen pisteen luo voit jättää polkupyöräsi, auto sopii jättää reittipisteenä ilmoitetulle parkkipaikalle. Ensimmäisellä pisteellä voit myös nauttia eväitä. Kuinka monta pöytää on käytettävissäsi? Olkoon se luku A ja toinen piste löytyy koordinaateista N 60° 12.[A + 805] E 024° 59.[A + 192].

Toisella ja kolmannella pisteellä koordinaattimuotoiset jatko-ohjeet löytyvät näkösällä olevista metallilätkistä. Kolmannen pisteen kohteeseen ei tarvitse mennä edes sisäpuolelle. (Eikä ainakaan lintujen pesimäaikaan kannatakaan.)

Loppupisteellä tarvitset jonkin vajaa parimetrisen ulottimen päästäksesi purkkiin käsiksi. Jos omaa ulotinta ei satu olemaan mukana, ihan ihan läheltä voit löytää piilottajien jättämän mallikappaleen. Tai sitten voit turvautua lähistön luonnonmateriaaleihin. Pidäthän huolen, että palautat purnukan reippaasti käsien ulottumattomiin. Ja lopuksi vielä varmista, että kätkö säilyi liikutettavana.

Runsaslumisena talvena piilopaikan suuta joutunee vähän kaivamaan esiin, mutta itse purkki talvehtinee vallan mainiosti. Purkki on varsin kookas ja siellä on tilaa isommillekin vaihtareille ja kulkijoille. Pitäkäähän hauskaa!

The Multi-Cache Each of the four stages has the same degrees and minutes: N 60° 12.___ E 024° 59.___. The Terrain value of 5 refers solely to the need of an equipment at the box site. Otherwise it would be T2 at the most. The D-value on the other hand may be reduced with the help of the encrypted hints.

At the first given stage you may leave your bicycle. For cars, there are free parking spaces at the given additional waypoint. In the listed coordinates you may also have your picnic. How many picnic tables are there at your disposal? Let the number of the tables be the figure A. The second stage is to be found at N 60° 12.[A + 805] E 024° 59.[A + 192].

At the second and third stage you'll find small plates made of metal in plain sight. In the the plates there are the coordinates to the next stages. At the third stage there's no need to go indoors to the object. There are the needed decimals for the actual cache box. In order to reach the box you'll need some kind of 2m long equipment. You may try to find the one made by the hiders in the immidiate proximity. Please make sure that you'll return the box properly far out of reach by hands. Still, make sure that the box remains movable.

When there's lots of snow, the entry to the cache will quite likely be more difficult to find and it'll require some digging. The box itself should endure winters and snows pretty easily. The rather spacious box has plenty of room trading items and trackables. Happy hunting!
