Jēkabpils Vēstures muzeja Brīvdabas nodaļa “Sēļu sēta” sākta veidot 1952. gadā, bet šo teritoriju muzejs pārņēma jau 1949. gadā. Viens no muzeja izveidotājiem bijis Arvīds Ozoliņš. Tajā izvietotas septiņas 19. gadsimta Sēlijas lauku celtnes. Ēkas celtas skujkoku baļķu guļbūves. Pirmā ēka, kas pārvesta uz Brīvdabas nodaļu ir klēts no Aknīstes apkārtnes “Skārdupēm” 1952. gadā. 1953. gadā tiek pārvesta dzīvojamā māja no Biržu apkārtnes “Miķelāniem” un klēts ar vienkāršo lieveni no Kalna pagasta “Pilskalnu” mājām, kas tiek uzstādīta 1955. gadā. 1955. gadā tiek pārvestas dzirnavas, un divu gadu laikā tās tiek atjaunotas. 1957. gadā tiek pārvesta pirts no Kalna pagasta “Adumāniem” un kalve no Vārnavas pagasta, bet 1958. gadā tiek pārvesta no Salas pagasta Boķu dzirnavu apkārtnes.
Slēpnis neatrodas muzeja teritorijā tikai tāpēc, ka tas ir atvērts sezonāli. Tāpēc ņemiet par labu to versiju kāda tā ir un atcerieties, šādā versijā slēpnis ir pieejam 24/7 un bez maksas. Kā arī neizmantojiet sētu lai pakāptos. Tā arī ir muzeja eksponāts.\

The part of Jēkabpils’ History Open-air museum, named „Sēļu house” was founded in 1952. Here You can see historical buildings of Latvian farmhouse. The first building in the open-air museum is barn, who was removed to the museum from farmhouse „Skārdupes” in Aknīste, small city about 40 km from Jēkabpils.
 
Cache is not in the museum teritory, because it’s open only seasonally. In this version cache is available  24/7. PLEASE do not climb on the fence, because it’s also a part of open-air museum!
 
Of course, You’re welcome to go in and see all exposition.
 
Museum is open from 1st of May till 31st of October.

Visting hours:
Mon-Fr: 10.00-18.00,
St-Sun: 10:00-17.00.
 
Ticket price:
Adult visitors: 0.80 Ls
Schoolchild, students, seniors: 0.60 Ls.
