One Windy Night Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

barefootjeff: Sadly the landcare group that had been looking after this reserve have now either disbanded or moved on, leaving it to become increasingly overgrown, weed-infested and strewn with rubbish. Ironically a tree has now fallen over in the recent winds, all but blocking access to the cache, so time to move on. I'll be placing a new hide shortly to make up for the loss of this one.

Geocache Description:

Located in a reserve at the headwaters of Kahibah Creeek.

On the evening of the 8th of June 2007, an intense east coast low sent gale force winds onto the NSW Central Coast. At around 6pm one severe gust felled many of the trees in and around this reserve. Multiple power lines were brought down, blacking out the area for several days.

As you search for the cache, you'll see a number of sawn-up logs that are the remnants of this night.

The cache is a 400ml Sistema container.
