This camp was used between July 1943 til November 1945 and housed 4000 German POWS. Once part of General Erwin Rommel's elite "Afrika Korps," the soldiers were brought to the United States on allied troop ships and then sent west by train to Kansas.
There is not much left of the camp just a couple of towers and a few of the buildings in the area were actually ones from the camp.
Drive abit further east of the coordinates posted and read the sign.
