All Saints Cressing
The Earliest written reference to All Saints is from the Evereux Charter of 1136 in which a land grant to the vicars of Witham allowed for maintenance of a Capella(Probably the chapel-of-ease)together with a demesne of twenty acres at cressing.
However it appears that this was not the first church on the site archaeologists excavated Postholes in the nave in 1970 which date back to the ninth century. to find the cache you need to read the notice at the front of the church and answer the following question
When was The Reverend E.R. Littler Vicar of the parish (ABCD-E)
the cache is located at N 51° 51.(A+B-E)(C-E)D E 000° 36. ACD
