LV: Šaursliežu dzelzceļu Ventspils apriņķī izbūvēja 1916. gadā 1. pasaules kara laikā pēc vācu karaspēka vadības pieprasījuma kokmateriālu izvešanai no Baltijas piekrastes mežiem. MI sērijas lokomotīves izgatavotas Vācijā 1915.-1919.gadā. Sliežu platums – 60 centimetri maksimālais ātrums 20 kilometri stundā. Vilciena sastāvu bremzēja ar rokas bremzi. Pēc 1. pasaules kara mazbānīša līnijas izmantoja arī pasažieru pārvadāšanai. 40 gadus tas bija vienīgais satiksmes līdzeklis gar Kurzemes jūrmalas ciemiem. Mazbānīša satiksme tika pārtraukta 1962. gadā. Mazbānīša līnijā bija šādas stacijas: Meža postenis, Dzērvīte, Staldzene, Akmeņdziras, Jaunupe, Ovīši, Renči, Lūžņas, Kāpas, Miķeļtornis, Lielirbe, Sīkrags, Mazirbe, Slītere, Kurči, Dundaga.
