Корените на селото като населено място вероятно датират от древността и са свързани с разположения до р. Росица древен град Никополис ад Иструм, основан през 106 г. от н.е. от император Траян в чест на победата му над даките. Каптажът на извора на р. Пещерска с подземен канал е отвеждал питейна вода чак до града.
Според легендите село Мусина е създадено непосредствено след падането на България под турско робство. В местността “Водицата” още стоят останки от манастира, където е живяла майката на Иван Шишман. Оцелели хора от близките местности се събират около извора на р. Пещерска и основават селото, като името идва от известния Мусьо войвода.

Here is some information about the place:
The roots of the village as the village probably dates back to ancient times and are associated with the placement of the River Rosica ancient town of Nicopolis ad Instrum, founded in 106 AD by Emperor Trajan in honor of his victory over the Dacians. Catchment of the spring river Peshterska underground drainage channel drinking water all the way to the city.
According to legend, the village of Musina is created immediately after the fall of Bulgaria under Ottoman rule. In the area of “Voditcata” still stand the remains of the monastery, where lived the mother Shishman. Survivors from nearby areas gather around the fountain of the river Peshterska and founded the village, the name comes from the famous Musyo leader.
