Localizada 25 minutos a norte do Funchal, a Eira do Serrado é um dos locais mais belos da Madeira, com as suas magníficas vistas sobre as montanhas e sobre o vale do Curral das Freiras. Ao descer encontrará no coração da ilha a pequena vila do Curral das Freiras: foi neste local que as freiras se refugiaram dos piratas que atacavam frequentemente a Madeira no século XVI.

Located 25 minutes north of Funchal, the Sawed Eira is one of the most beautiful places in Madeira, with its magnificent views of the mountains and the valley of the Nuns Valley. When descending find in the heart of the small island village of Nun's Valley: it was here that the nuns took refuge of pirates who frequently attacked the wood in the sixteenth century.
