[ENG] The cache – a small plastic box that contains logbook and pencil – is located at the end of the Kaņieris Lake nature trail. Accessible from the Riekstu peninsula, where the bird watching tower and free parking place is located.
[LV] Jauns iemesls apmeklēt Kaņieri Ķemeru nacionālajā parkā. Pie Riekstu pussalas putnu vērošanas torņa ir izbūvēta jauna dabas taka. Kaņiera ezers ir izcila putnu vieta. Jaunā taka ļauj pieiet tuvāk niedrājā un ezera slīkšņās ligzdojošajiem putniem un labāk saklausīt ezera putnu balsis. Ja karstā vasaras dienā pastaiga caur blīvajām niedru audzēm var šķist garlaicīga, atnāc te vēlreiz – agri pavasarī vai septembra beigās, oktobrī, kad ezerā pulcējas simtiem pīļu, lauču, gulbju, zosu, jūras kraukļu, gārņu un citu putnu, saceļot pamatīgu troksni. Kaņiera ezers ir starptautiskas nozīmes putniem nozīmīga vieta. Īpaši sargāta kopš 1964. gada. Esi saudzīgs
[ENG] There is a new reason to visit Lake Kaņieris in the Ķemeri national park. A new nature trail is constructed near the bird watching tower at Riekstu peninsula. Lake Kaņieris is an excellent birdwatching place. The new trail allows to get closer to the birds that rest or nest in reed beds and marshes of the lake. If the walking through the dense reed beds may seem boring during hot summer days, come here again at the early spring or at late September, October, when hundreds of ducks, swans, geese, cormorants, herons and many other birds gather, making huge noise. Over other sounds, the loud and booming mating calls of Great Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) can be heard almost always.
It is an important bird area. Specially protected since 1964.
