Church in snow

Since of its creation, the village settlement Bistrinci that leaned to the right bank of the Drava, most likely belonged to the parish Valpovo. The entire area from the church point of view has long been under the Diocese of Pécs. According to some sources, it is considered that the village was built in the time Nagyharsany battle (1687.) by transferring residents from the left bank of river Drava.

The data from the archives of the Diocese of Pecs, that were written during the canonical visitation in 1810., give us information that the village Bistrinci then had 45 houses. Further more the data also show that the local chapel was built 50 years earlier, so about the year 1760. It was dedicated to St. Stephen (Sv. Stjepan), hungarian king. According to our church parish memorandom the church of St. Stephen was built in 1813. by the generosity of baron Joseph Prandau.

Old

But nevertheless which data is right the curch bears the name of St. Stephen and the church annual celebration date is on 20th of august. There is also a big fest on that day so feel free to visit this place then.

The church is now renewed, bigger and a bit modern from its original construction. The old part contains the old altar which can be seen on the 20th of august when the old part is also opened for visitors.

Near the cache spot there is also interesting thing to see - a smart bench where you can surf with wi-fi or charge your mobile phone. Of course you can just sit on it, rest and log the cache :)
Important!

Please watch for muggles and don't search the cache if someone is seeing you.
The mass is every Sunday from 9 to 10 am and every day in the afternoon from 18 to 20 pm so don't look for the cache then.
