Geocache Description:

The church of St. Michael is built of rendered flint rubble and consists of a chancel, an aisle and clerestoried nave with north porch, within its western most bay a tower. Apart from the porch and tower it was built in the 14th century; on the north wall of the chancel an arch, now blocked, may have led to a chapel. In the 15th century the chancel was reroofed and the clerestory was built. The tower was built, and the west bay of each aisle was altered in the 16th century. The porch of brick was built in 1675. West buttresses were built of brick in 1707. Proposals to build a gallery were made in 1724 and 1750; there is no evidence that one was built. The church was lightly restored in 1882 to designs by Ewan Christian.
