Le Hangar du V1
Vous apercevez ici les vestiges du hangar amagnétique de la base V1 de Moringhem.
Pourquoi amagnétique, car il est totalement dépourvu de propriétés magnétiques. Aucun élément métallique n'est incorporé dans sa construction afin d'éviter toute perturbation des compas lors du lancement de la bombe volante, qui sera dailleurs le tout premier missile de croisière de l'histoire de l'aéronautique : Le V1. Dans ce hangar se terminait la construction de ce dernier avec la pose de ses ailes.
Cette base de tir comportait une rampe de lancement à quelques mètres de ce hangar destinée à faire atteindre la ville de Londres.
En 1944, les bombardiers américains ont confondu le site « Travaux de Moringhem » avec celui de «Travaux de Zudausques » et ont de ce fait bombardé tout le village de Moringhem. Sur la carte d'état-major cette zone se dénommait « Liheuse » et après s'être rendu compte de cette énorme erreur, les bombardiers anglais ont eux détruit toute la rampe de lancement.
J'ai eu la chance de visiter, dans la propriété privée attenante, le pas de tir en excellent état de conservation possédant un plafond en dalle béton d'une épaisseur de 60 cm.

Why non-magnetic, because it is completely deprived of magnetic properties. No metal element is built-in its construction in order to avoid any disturbance of the compasses during the launching of the flying bomb, which will be besides the very first cruise missile of the history of aeronautics : V1. In this hangar the construction of this last with the installation of its wings finished.
This base of shooting comprised a launching pad to a few meters of this hangar intended to make reach the town of London.
In 1944, the American bombers confused the site Work of Moringhem with that of Work of Zudausques and have of this fact bombarded all the village of Moringhem. On the Geological Survey map this zone named Liheuse and after being itself given an account of this enormous error, the English bombers have them destroys all the launching pad.
I was likely to visit, in the contiguous private property, the launching pad in an excellent state of conservation having a ceiling in flagstone concrete a 60 cm thickness.
