Jokeri on supersankari Batmanin arkkivihollinen, joka on vastuussa monista Batmanin elämän tragedioista. The Joker is the archenemy of the superhero Batman, and is responsible for many tragedies in Batman´s life. The Joker is intelligent, but a psychopath with sadistic sense of humor. He escapes repeatedly from prison. The Joker was a chemist. The stories commonly depict his appearance being the result of him – when confronting Batman – falling into a tank of chemical waste, which bleaches his skin white and turns his hair green and his lips bright red. His character is very theatrical and this can be seen in the crimes he commits; for example, he leaves a playing card on every crime scene in order to make sure that the investigators will know it was he who committed the crime.
