Geocache Description:

St Mary the Virgin Church Beeston-next-Mileham, but known as Besston, is outside the village and very remote from the village itself. This was it is due to the Black Death

The Prince of Wales visited the church in 1990. Dame Kiri Te Kanawa sang at a concert which was put on by the Norfolk Church’s Trust. The church has also been used to film Allo Allo which was shown in 1982. During the World War 11 the bomber crews were always pleased to see Beeston church on their return.

The church is made of flint with stony dressing and has a tower with spire and inside is nave aisle and a chancel with chapel, also there is a beautiful carved screen. The floor is of brick, and another church that has a hammer-beam roof. In 2007 the church went under a massive repair programme with funds being sort from various fund raising events and a grant from Heritage Lottery Fund.
