Geocache Description:

'Highest Church, Lowest Steeple, Poorest Parish, Fewest People'

Paddlesworth is a small rural parish set on the North Downs at over 600 feet above sea level. It is 3 miles North of Folkestone in a narrow country lane that links nearby Hawkinge with Etchinghill. If you blink, you could miss it! There is plenty of parking nearby for you to visit the tiny little Church of St Oswald. It can be seen across the field nearby. Although the church appears to date from early Norman times, there is evidence of an earlier structure indicating that the church could owe its foundations to St Ethelburga, the Foundress and first abbess of Lyminge. The church is often open and welcomes visitors. Should you wish to know more, there are excellent history leaflets inside. If the church is not unlocked, there is a key available in the nearby 'local' during opening times. St Oswald’s church offers peace and quality time away from the pressures of daily life. It is full of atmosphere and feels loved. It’s a ‘comfortable’ place to visit, not austere and cold. It is a very ‘special’ place for me. The in spite of a few past attempts to close it, the church is still in regular use and details of services can be obtained from the notice board near the roadside.

The cache is hidden outside the churchyard.  Watch out for the nettles that have sprung up since the cache was first put in place! It is a small magnetic screw topped tube. You will also need to bring your own pen.
Please ensure that you handle and close the cache carefully and return it safely to its hiding place for the next person to find.
Paddlesworth PCC is aware that the cache is hidden near the churchyard. They hope that lots of Geocachers will enjoy visiting their lovely little church.

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
