Coyote Bike Trail Homestead Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Easy cache about 1/4 mile off the bike trail.

This is an old home site at the side of a large open field.
The Cache was moved from the original location. The replaced cache is a plastic cylinder 3 inches in diameter by 5 inches high. It is covered by leaves but should not be too hard to find.

The "homestead" has unusual trees and bushes for the area. It is a cool and interesting place to browse around in. If anyone can identify the fauna, please note the names when logging your find.

Contents:
Logbook
Pencil
A string of beads

Since this is a popular cache, I should warn you geo-cachers that during the spring summer and fall, the yellow star thistle weed is particularly daunting and ticks are there, it seems, in all seasons. I suggest that you wear long pants and tape some plasic grocery bags over your shoes. It seems that it takes about six months to finally get all them pesky foxtails out of your socks and sneakers and wearing light colored trousers allows you to spot the ticks before they get you.
