On the National Register of Historic Places, this spot has always
been interesting to me since I learned of it. If you enjoy history
and geography like me, then this place will be a rewarding visit.
If anything, you can always tell people that you have been to this
place. It is open for tours Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4:00pm, and,
according to one recent geocacher, it is not open on Sundays
anymore. 04-24-06 UPDATE--> The tour is CLOSED ON SUNDAYS, but you can still get onto the
site where the granite marker is. To get credit for this find,
there is a small granite marker by the path on the left side of the
house. Email me the name of the governor enscribed on the marker
via the geocaching website. Don't post your answer here, even if
encrypted.
This is my first cache placed. Just a tidbit of info, this town
is also famous for the baseball player, Jim "Catfish" Hunter.
