Geocache Description:

A nice hike along the Credit Valley Footpath. Several steep hills and 'Stairs'. The trail varies from river level to very high above the river.

The cache is contained in a 3 litre clear Rubbermaid container and is well hidden. In addition to finding the cache, you might be interested in the ruins of an old mill located on the trail at N43°39.423' by W79°53.655'

Initial Contents:

  • Various Scouting badges
  • Various Guiding badges
  • Teenie Beanie
  • Chapstick
  • Tiretube repair kit
  • Biner
  • Emergency Poncho
  • GPS batteries (AA)
  • Metal Star Trek card #6
  • Various pins
  • Some toys and jewelry type things
Since the entire family is involved in either Scouting or Guiding, we had many extra badges to contribute to the cache. Most of the remaining contents are useful items given our outdoor involvement.

Based upon some of the logs, I've decided to add the following information:

Limited parking is available at N43°39.654' by W79°53.635' (This used to be included in the hint)

Official Bruce Side Trail entrance is at N43°39.566' by W79°53.501' (This has been revised to suit new averaged readings). I accessed the trail from this trailhead (Aug.1'02) with no problems. It is clearly marked and at the far southeast corner of the road area (next to the fence).
