In the bronze statue with about 4 feet tall, designed by Augusto Cid, author primarily known for his work cartoonist, the figure of the discoverer of the century. Enfrenta a rajada, inclinando ligeiramente o corpo nessa direcção e equilibra-se com firmeza numa rocha tombada sobre outra, ambas constituindo o plinto da estátua assente directamente sobre passeio, opção plástica que vem reforçar um impacto estético de pendor realista.
