The cache is situated on the Old Cape Wagon trail leading from the Cape to the eastern interior. This little cave, described as more like a jackal-hole, served as a beacon to travellers from the earliest days of European expansion. It is said that the sick and weary sometimes rested here and hence the name “HET ZIEKENHUIS”. One wonders what Florence Nightingale would have said about this African hospital! The Ziekenhuis was rediscovered by Dr. E. E. Mossor at the beginning of the last century.
At the given coordinates there is a plaque with the date that Het Ziekenhuis was rediscovered. The date is ABCD and the coordinates for the next waypoint are:
S34 07.D(A+C)(2D-B-A)
E019 42.(D-A)(A+D)C
At the waypoint you will be able to derive the coordinates for the final cache:

E019 42.HIJ
Happy hunting.
