Famous Shawnee Leaders of Ohio Series
A series of 7 caches hidden along the paved Millcreek-Greenway Trail. They honor notable Shawnee leaders that were active in the Ohio Valley region. The trail runs along the Mill Creek that the Shawnee called "Maketewah" which meant “it is black” due to the the dark rich soil that made up the bed of the creek which was once was rich in wildlife.

Murdered by soldiers during a diplomatic trip to Fort Randolph in Point Pleasant OH. His death shocked both whites and Indians and escalated tension and hostilities in the Ohio region for several years.
