Devil's Tongue Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

LavaLizard: Entering construction areas is not recommended. Even after hours, it is not recommended as it is considered to be trespassing. And quite often, to prevent damage and theft, construction areas employ watchmen. How do I know this? Once upon a time, I attempted to recover a cache of mine from a construction area...

In any case, it seems that the circumstances that applied to this cache when it was originally placed no longer apply. Accordingly, I am archiving this cache listing to remove it from search pages.

If you would like to contact me regarding this cache, please do so via my profile page. Be sure to include the GC code in your message.

If the cache owner addresses the issues that lead to archival and contacts me within a reasonable period of time (6-8 weeks), it may be possible to unarchive the cache. Please include the GC# with your message.

Thank you for your contributions to geocaching.

Please see the Bookmark List on the right for a list of all the caches on the Devil’s Canyon Trail

On February 17, 2013, I explored a new way into the canyon. I’m going to recommend this as the way to go as you don’t have to trespass through the condo parking lots or take a regimented route through the upscale and uptight private community.

The Devil’s Canyon trail has a lot of diversity to it, from fire road to narrow canyon with steep walls, from single track, to wider sections surrounded by grassy knolls. You will cross the creek at least two dozen times, stepping on stones to keep from getting wet, as well as walking through the dry wash at times. I suggest that you bring a hiking stick on your adventure.

WATCH OUT FOR POISON OAK. It is abundant, and at times it is close to the trail on both sides. None of the caches should be by it. If this changes, please let me know. There is no reason for anyone to come into contact with it, as long as they keep their eyes open, and know what it looks like.

Devil's Mouth is a spice container. It is said that the Devil's tongue is forked. You will need to take the left fork to visit his canyon.
