Geocache Description:

Enjoy walking through the natural beauty in Lyman Woods Forest Preserve as you go on a treasure hunt to the Mystery in the Marsh!  The serene forest preserve is a sanctuary for wildlife amidst our Downers Grove community. Pause to appreciate the oak hickory woods, colorful meadows, and maybe catch a glimpse of beavers in the wetland.  Lyman Woods is a passive recreation preserve, where bikes and dogs are prohibited.

Parking is available at the William F. Sherman Interpretive Center, where you can acquire a map or brochure before you head out to the trailhead.  Please stay on the trail as you navigate to the GZ.  The walk is about 20-30 minute from the trailhead on an easy wide terrain. The cache is a clear tupperware container and is located just about 10 feet off the marked trail.  The name, Mystery in the Marsh, hints that the cache is hidden near the wetland. Stop in the center to share your experience with the Lyman Woods staff. Good luck and happy trails!
