An Old Fashion Picnic
This is the 13th Annual KC Area Geocachers Picnic


When: August 24th
Where: Macken Park - Festival Shelter - North Kansas City, MO
Time: 3:00PM to 9:00PM (Chow Down at 5:00PM)

This year we’re going back...back to a time when families and friends gathered to enjoy just being together.

Bring yourself, your family and friends. Grab your favorite side dish to share, some family friendly beverages and lawnchairs and head to Ground Zero. We’ll be providing the fried chicken and picnic supplies.

***We have a special offer for those of you traveling over 100 miles for the event. Since it’s difficult to provide a side dish when traveling, for $5 a person we will order a food dish for you. Please contact Carlin and she’ll place your order. You can then make your payment at the registration desk when you arrive.***

GET LUCKY:

Since it’s our 13th picnic, 13 lucky cachers will be heading home with one of 13 unique containers filled with geocaching goodies. Everyone will receive an entry ticket when you stop by to get your name tag at the registration table. Just put your caching name on the ticket and place it in the can associated with the prize you would like to win. Additional tickets will be awarded to game winners and they’ll also be available for purchase at $1 per ticket or 6 for $5.

PATHTAGS AND T-SHIRTS:

T-Shirts are now available to order.
  • Orders must be in by Aug. 5th.
  • This years T-Shirt color will be "Ash".
  • To place your orders please send an email to mogeo.picnic@gmail.com..
  • Pickup and payment will be on picnic day.
  • Available Sizes: Youth S 6/8, M 10/12, L 14/16 Adult S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL. Adult sizes can be ordered with long sleeves.
  • Prices are as follows: Short sleeve up thru XL will be $12.00 - Sizes 2XL-4XL will be $15.00 - Long sleeved t-shirts will be an additional $3.25.
  • Shirts ordered on the day of the picnic will cost an additional $4.00 for shipping.
  • There is no need to order pathtags. They are currently available and you should be able to purchase at any event (Including the Picnic).

DONATIONS:

We are asking for donations to help fill the 13 lucky containers. Most all items donated this year will be assigned to a container, even if they may be too large to fit inside. If you feel like you would like to donate anything or assist with food and supplies contact Carlin, and we thank you for your help.

We are also asking for donations from businesses and organizations through contributions and sponsorships. If you know of any business or organization that may be able to assist this year please contact Carlin also.


IDEAS:

The Picnic Committee is always open to hear any ideas you might have to make our picnic successful and fun for all ages.

A special thanks to North Kansas City Parks and Recreation for use of this venue and for being geocaching friendly.

Please post a (will attend) log. (We need a definite yes or no to provide an accurate count when placing the chicken order, so no maybes please.) If possible please sign up by noon on Friday, August 23rd, so we can finalize the order. For those of you new to our caching community, please list your first names along with your geocaching name in your log so we can create your personalized nametag. Each pre-registered name tag will contain one raffle ticket.
