Duf waterfall
Thunder buried under the earth. In a place where the Rostushka river sinks into the rocky abyss you can see one of the most impressive natural beauties in Macedonia – Duf waterfall. Have an adventure and reach this place on foot. It is located in one of the most beautiful national parks, “Mavrovo”.
Rostushe village and Bistra Mt.
Duff Waterfall is located in a gorge which is so deep and narrow that one can barely see the sky. The trail leads through a beautiful Duf canyon with steep rocks, on some places higher than 100 meters. Through the canyon flows Rostushka river and its waters are most abundant in the spring. The waterfall has a vertical drop of 28 meters, but the height is not nearly impressive as the landscape that is created from the gray rocks overgrown with green moss, which are contrasted by the black cold waters of the river and white foam which is created when the water hits the surface below.
Bistra Mt.
If you visit Duf waterfall in hot summer days, you will enjoy its mild climate, because the temperature rarely reaches above 20 degrees. On the trail there are several viewpoints from which you can see Bistra Mt. and the beautiful river Radika.
On the path to the waterfall
Duf waterfall is easily accessible for visitors. It takes only about 30 minutes walk from the village of Rostushe (from the point R2). The trail to the waterfalls is marked, and provided with wooden fence where the slope is steep. However, the most part of the trail is easily accessible.

Duf watefall
This beautiful place can be reached from two directions: from the city of Struga, or from Mavrovi Anovi village (at Mavrovo Lake). At the site R1 is turning up toward the Rostushe village. The asphalt road after few hundred meters leads you to the point R2, where starts the trail to the waterfall.
About the cache: The cache is a yellow plastic box. Because of the location, the GPS signal is quite poor here, so PLEASE, USE THE PHOTO HINTS TO FIND THE CACHE!!! The cache is hidden under a group of trees, on the right side of the trail, fenced on the left side with a wooden fence. From this point some 20 meters far on the left side is a resting place with several benches and a wooden table, and the coordinates in fact will lead you here. The waterfall is some 50 meters from here, you just have to descend right down.
Please, be very careful when getting out, logging and putting back the cache, in order to protect it of Muggles! In case of lost of the cache the owner can visit the location and restore it only 2-3 per year! Thanks.
