Vistas de La Seu Multi-cache

La aventura comienza a los pies de La Seu: frente a su puerta principal, en las coordenadas N 39º 34,067 E 002º 38,858, se levantan dos grandes torres hacia el cielo que hacen que el cuello nos duela por no poder dejar de admirar esta construcción tan impresionante. Al contrarrestar este gesto, puedes observar un duelo entre dos grandes animales. ¿Qué dos animales se enfrentan a los pies de la puerta principal de la Seu? (A)

En dirección a N 39° 34.076 E 002° 38.941, nuestra siguiente vista, pasarás por delante de la puerta de la Almoina y la majestuosa torre del campanario; enseguida llegarás al carrer de Sant Roc. Junto a un letrero que indica dos direcciones del casco antiguo, si diriges tu mirada en dirección sur, por encima de los edificios y tras una balaustrada de piedra, se dejan ver dos pináculos de la Catedral. ¿Cuántos escudos puedes ver en la piedra del pináculo? El número de escudos corresponde a la incógnita B.

Las dos siguientes vistas están a escasos metros de este punto. La primera en las coordenadas N 39° 34.062 E 002° 38.975, concretamente bajo el número 7 obtendrás una vista de la torre del campanario.

Como se puede observar en el plano de la Seu, la orientación de la torre del campanario es diferente a la de la propia Catedral. Esto es debido a que la Catedral de Palma fue levantada (al igual que otros templos cristianos en Mallorca) encima de la mezquita más grande de Mallorca, la cual estaba orientada hacia la meca, y de la cual se conserva la torre del campanario.
 

Desde este punto, ¿Cuántas ventanas con parteluz puedes ver en la fachada que mira hacia la meca? El número de ventanas corresponde a la incógnita C.

En el carrer Palau, N 39º 34.043 E 002º 38.965, levantando la vista entre palmeras y naranjos, hallarás una de las vistas más misteriosas de la Seu, como un pequeño gran secreto entre las callejuelas de la Palma antigua: una pizca de cada uno de los elementos que componen todo el atractivo de la gigantesca edificación: columnas, contrafuertes, arbotantes, gárgolas, escudos y, por supuesto, las cristaleras y rosetones.

Desde este punto, ¿Cuántos pares de arbotantes al completo puedes ver? El número de pares de arbotantes corresponde a la incógnita D.

A continuación, accediendo por el carrer Miramar, llegarás a d’Alt Murada en N 39º 33.998 E 002º 38.930. Desde este punto, se puede observar claramente como las gárgolas que ya habíamos visto anteriormente en las otras paredes de la Catedral también aparecen en la fachada marítima. La razón de que haya tantas gárgolas en las diferentes fachadas de la Catedral es porque antiguamente creían que alejaban a los malos espíritus y a las brujas.

Se pueden ver dos tipos de gárgolas según el tamaño, las grandes y las pequeñas. Desde este punto de d’Alt Murada ¿Cuántas gárgolas grandes puedes ver en el ábside de la Seu? El número de gárgolas corresponde a la incógnita E. Mira la pista spoiler.

Siguiendo por d’Alt Murada, en N 39º 33.906 E 002º 39.107, bajo la sombra de las palmeras, una vista lejana de la Catedral nos deja entrever gran parte de la colección de rosetones. La Seu tiene varios sobrenombres, uno de ellos es ‘La Catedral de la Luz’, ya que está compuesta de 87 vidrieras y 7 rosetones que permiten la entrada de luz durante todo el día. Destacar que al rosetón mayor, conocido con el nombre de ‘Ojo del Gótico’, se le ha citado como el más grande del mundo gótico, con más de 12 metros de diámetro.

Desde este punto, ¿Cuántos rosetones se pueden ver (enteros o parcialmente)? El número de rosetones corresponde a la incógnita F.

Para acabar esta ruta de vistas de La Seu, y antes ir en busca de la vista definitiva donde se encuentra el caché escondido, deberás ir a N 39º 33.948 E 002º 38.730. Desde este punto podrás ver en el panel de baldosas información sobre de las diferentes edificaciones que se pueden observar.

Para conseguir la incógnita G deberás contar: ¿Cuántos pináculos de la catedral rasgan el cielo desde este punto?

Towards N 39° 34.076 E 002° 38.941, our next view, you will walk close to the Almoina gate and the majestic bell tower; soon you will arrive at carrer de Sant Roc. Next to a sign that indicates two directions to the old town, if you direct your eyes to the south, above the buildings and behind a stone balustrade, you can see two pinnacles of the Cathedral. The next two views are very close to this point. In the first one, at coordinates N 39° 34.062 E 002° 38.975, under the number 7, you will get a view of the bell tower.

As you can see in the plane of the Cathedral, the orientation of the bell tower is different from that of the Cathedral itself. This is because the Cathedral was built – like many other Christian churches in the island - over the largest mosque in Mallorca, which was oriented towards Mecca, and whose bell tower is still preserved.

In carrer Palau, N 39º 34.043 E 002º 38.965, looking up between palms and orange trees, you will find one of the most mysterious views of the Cathedral, as a great little secret between the alleys of the old Palma: a pinch from each of the elements that compose all the charm of the gigantic building: columns, buttresses, flying buttresses, gargoyles, coats and of course, the glass windows and rosettes.

Next, going through carrer Miramar, you will reach to d’Alt Murada in N 39º 33.998 E 002º 38.930. From this point, one can clearly see that the gargoyles, as we had already seen in other walls of the Cathedral, also appear on the maritime façade. The reason why there are so many gargoyles on the different façades of the Cathedral is that long time ago they were believed to cast out evil spirits and witches.

Going on over d’Alt Murada, in N 39º 33.906 E 002º 39.107, under the shades of the palm trees, a distant view of the Cathedral lets us have a glimpse of a great part of the collection of rosettes. La Seu has several nicknames: one of them is 'The Cathedral of Light', as it is composed of 87 glass windows and seven rosettes, which allow the entry of light throughout the day. Note that the larger rosette - known by the name of 'Eye of the Gothic' - has been cited as the largest one from the gothic, with more than 12 meters in diameter.

Bei N 39° 34.076 E 002° 38.941, unserem nächsten Punkt, gehst Du nahe beim Almonia-Tor und dem majestätischen Glockenturm vorbei, um bald darauf am  Carrer de Sant Roc anzukommen. Nahe bei einem Schild welches zwei Wege zur Altstadt anzeigt, richtest Du deine Augen gen Süden. Über dem Gebäude und hinter einer steinernen Balustrade siehst Du zwei Türme der Kathedrale. Die nächsten beiden Ansichten sind nahe bei. Die erste Ansicht, bei N 39° 34.062 E 002° 38.975, unter der Nummer 7, ist der Glockenturm.

Wie Du am Grundriß der Kathedrale sehen kannst, ist die Orientierung des Glockenturms unterschiedlich von dem der Kathedrale selbst. Der Grund ist, weil die Kathedrale – wie viele andere christliche Kirchen auf Mallorca – über der größten Moschee der Stadt erbaut wurde, und diese war gen Mekka ausgerichtet. Ihr Glockenturm ist damit erhalten geblieben.
 

Von diesem Punkt, wieviele Stabkreuzfenster (Fenster mit Mittelpfosten) sind in der Fassade Richtung Mekka zu sehen? Die Anzahl der Fenster ist C.

Wenn man im Carrer Palau, N 39º 34.043 E 002º 38.965, zwischen Palmen und Orangenbäumen aufschaut, erhält man eine der interessantesten Ansichten der Kathedrale und der kleinen Gässchen des alten Palma. Man bekommt einen Einblick in alle Stilelemente, die den Charme eines solchen Gebäudes ausmachen: Säulen, Mauerstützen, Strebebögen, Wasserspeiern (mit Fratzengesicht), Wappen und natürlich Glasfenstern und Rosetten.

Wieviele (komplette) Doppel-Strebebögen siehst Du von diesem Punkt?  Die Anzahl ist D.

Wir setzen den Weg durch das Carrer Miramar fort und erreichen d’Alt Murada bei N 39º 33.998 E 002º 38.930. Von diesem Punkt aus stellen wir fest, dass die Wasserspeier ebenfalls auf der dem Meer zugewandten Seite zu sehen sind. Der Grund, warum so viele Fratzen zu sehen sind, liegt in dem alten Aberglauben, dass diese böse Geister und Hexen fernhalten.

Es sind zwei Arten von Wasserspeiern sichtbar: Große und Kleine. Von diesem Punkt der d'Alt Murada, wieviele große Wasserspeier sind in der Apsis des Gebäudes sichtbar? Die Anzahl der großen Wasserspeier ist E. Sieh spoiler hint.

Gehen wir weiter über d’Alt Murada, bei N 39º 33.906  E 002º 39.107, im Schatten der Palmen, ist ein guter Blick auf die entfernte Kathedrale gegeben. Hier sehen wir den Grund, warum La Seu verschiedene Spitznamen hat. Einer davon ist 'Kathedrale des Lichts', weil die Kathedrale 87 Glasfenster und 7 Rosetten besitzt, die permanenten Lichteinfall während des Tages gewährleisten.. Die größere Rosette, bekannt als das 'Auge der Gothik', ist mit ihren 12m Durchmessern die größte gothische Rosette.
