Dave Evans' Cache Traditional Geocache
olthomas: It's with a heavy heart that we are choosing to archive this cache but alas it's too difficult for us to maintain and despite having been successful for several years, the fact it's gone missing so soon after being replaced is testament to it not being workable.

This cache is situated close to - ok, it's on it - the tallest climbing tree open to the public, Dave Evans' Bicentennial Tree. The views from the top of the tree are fantastic and it's well worth the climb. The top viewing platform is 75m above the ground. Near to the base of the tree are some information boards which describe the tree and the way others like it have been used as fire lookouts. All in all, this is a must see attraction if you are in the Pemberton area.
The cache is a small bison tube. The attached photo shows which part of the tree you will need to reach before you start looking. Please bring your own writing implement and hold on tight to the cache. If you drop it, it's a long way down.
Log extraction tool recommended - i.e. tweezers
You must locate and sign the log book in order to claim the find. Finding the tree isn't good enough I'm afraid. Please also hide the cache exactly as you found it in a bid to prevent muggling.
A well deserved congratulations to frigidor on the FTF and your first Aussie FTF - having climbed twice I hope it was worth it!
