The sight of the place is the ski and sleight truck, in the Ámos hill, with different difficulty levels, night illumination in the ski season. There is look-out tower here too, built in 2003. From the tower you can enjoy a perfect panoramic view for a 25 kms circle, p.e. you can see the Balaton lake and the Bakony mountain.
Some hints on Eplény:
Eplény is a village, situated in the divide of the Zirc basin and the Veszprém plateau. It has been mentioned by the first charters since 1765, as the lordship of the Zirc Abbey. It had 197 inhabitants in 1785. Its mine was opened in 1929, and the exploitation has been continued for 60 years.
In 1981 Eplény became a part of the city of Zirc, but from 1992 it is an indipendent municipality again. The chapel of the village is 210 years old, its patron saint is St. Bernath.

In the frame of the work you can be acquinted with the flora and fauna of the High-Bakony (beeches, oaks, mashrooms, insects, soilstructures...) with the help of the demonstration panels placed along the path.
