Geocache Description:

A multi-virtual cache with a surprising connection. Both of the locations are rather obscure monuments located in DC. The first will lead you to the second.

This cache is similar to one of my other virtual caches "Place of Honor" in that the listed location provides details on the ultimate destination. In this case however the two locations are linked, although not obviously so. The other difference is that the physical separation is a bit more, so you might want to consider using some form of transportation to get from the first to the second (Hint: Metro will work with some amount of walking). You may also drive - my GPS V says ~7 minutes with no traffic of course.

The clue you need at the listed location is the year of death of the monument's namesakes.

Calling these 4 digits abcd, plug them into the following formula to get the coordinates of the second part.

Lat: 38 5d.b/3 a d*3
Long: 077 0c.a d*3 0

So for example if you find a year of 1983 the coords should then be : 38 53.319 077 08.190

To claim credit for this cache e-mail me the answer to these 2 questions: 1. What year was the second memorial dedicated? 2. Who was it erected by?

As a bonus (not required for completion) What is the connection between the 2 locations? This cache is similar to one of my other virtual caches "Place of Honor" in that the listed location provides details on the ultimate destination.
