I am adding this to the Sidetracked series as it is by the disused line from Collooney to Claremorris.
This is an old level crossing on the N5 at Ballinvoher, County Mayo. The now-disused line ran from Sligo to Claremorris and formed part of the Limerick to Sligo line which is now closed. The line was known as the Burma Road due to the number of level crossings. It is possible to park on the hard shoulder at the cache site but care is required due to the high volume of traffic. The cache container is a magnetic nano and is on the opposite side of the N5 from the occupied houses.
