Up until recently this area of Centerville was quite tame, no crime, no muggings, everything was safe. That was until some development had begun to encroach the large wooded area between centerville road and route 28. Since then strange sightings and disappearances have occurred. Of course the crime and development connection is just an educated guess and may not be the reason at all. The local reasoning is more along the lines of an urban legend, people have sighted a well dressed man with tentacles coming out of his back while walking their dogs or just driving around at night but when they stop or turn around to get a better look, he/ she is long gone as if they were never there. No one has captured an image or confronted this individual but after deciding to investigate a disappearance occurred. We met with local law enforcement personnel and found out that a girl and her dog had gone missing and they had found traces of it right around dawn. They would have followed the path more but it disappeared with the sunlight.
We figured, what better way to get a scoop on things than to get back to the scene of the crime before the police do. The trace of the killers trail may just be only visible at night so it might still be there tonight. Thankfully the days are short this time of year and our wait is very short. We get out and go to the spot where we first got on the trail and had trouble finding the path until we turned our lights one and then it lay before us.......
