Ready to step into the shoes of our park employees, and try YOUR hand at managing Everglades National Park? This cache is a golden opportunity to do just that! The Park Employee for a Day geocache trail is comprised of five caches (including this one) that follow the path of the main park road towards Flamingo. Like the others, this is a traditional cache, which contains a particular case study that requires your attention...

For 100 years, the National Park Service has preserved America’s special places “for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.” Celebrate its second century with the Find Your Park GeoTour that launched April 2016 and explore these geocaches placed for you by National Park Service Rangers and their partners.

Finding this cache will require a slow drive down a historic road not frequently traveled by most visitors. Along the way, you might catch a glimpse of wild turkeys, blue birds, snakes, even the occasional Floirda panther! Your search will also lead you to consider a decades-long problem plaguing the park.

This is an easy park-and-grab, but please remember to pull your vehicle off the road as much as possible. Remember to survey the scene for snakes, insects and other wildlife before reaching for the cache. And please don’t forget to share your thoughts when you log your find.
