Geocache Description:

A robotic arm that you control over the internet, using your browser.

The coords at the top of the page are for Little Chalfont station, on the Metropolitan line, and about a mile from the cache. Or if you're coming by car, visit At Your Convenience - Little Chalfont, where there is a convenient parking spot (you might need to pay).

For this cache, you will be operating a Robotic Arm, over the internet, and you'll be able to see what you're doing via three webcams. You won't need to install any software, and it will work with any browser (it uses Java). You can see what this looks like here.

But when you try to go to the page it's on you're asked for a username and password, and that's the first part of the puzzle.

If you just want to see and not control it, you can go here, no password needed.

  • What sort of computer is controlling the Robotic Arm? Just the intials, two letters.
  • Who makes the PCB that controlls the stepper motors? Just the initial, one letter.
  • What's the easy way to install software for Fedora Linux? Three letters.
  • What's the fifth digit after the decimal point of the number associated with the computer?
  • Who made the oldest webcam used by the arm? Just the initial, one letter.
  • Who made the not-quite-so-old webcam used by the arm? Just the initial, one letter.

Put those all together, make them in lower case, and that gives you the password to the Robotic Arm page. Your username is the first name of the author of "I, Robot".

When you've got the necessary information from the Robot Arm, go to the final page. Your username is the first name of the man who wrote it, the password is his last name. All in lower case.

Then go get the cache!
